Zero Tolerance of Violence
Against Women and Children

Project Z aspires to increase awareness and reduce
the level of violence in the community by gearing
programs toward
four segments of the community.

The Zero Tolerance of Violence Against Women and
Children project is a comprehensive joint
venture of
Schuylkill Women in Crisis and the Rape and Victim
Assistance Center of Schuylkill County, designed to
promote nonviolence within the community.  This
project, which was initially funded by the Pennsylvania
Commission on Crime and Delinquency, is based on
the premise that domestic violence and sexual assault
are at the root of a myriad of societal problems,
including drug and alcohol abuse, vandalism, teen
pregnancy, workplace disruptions, and juvenile
delinquency.

The project is built on the philosophy that domestic
violence and sexual assault are community problems
that require the entire community's involvment to
adequately address.
