SWiC Enjoys First Harvest

Thanks to Schuylkill Women in Crisis (SWiC) volunteer, Jane, the agency has a garden that is thriving and beginning to bear vegetables. OK, so the first harvest was not very big (see photo). But SWiC staff picked at least a dozen or so green beans from several plants that show promise in producing quite a bit more. Other plants to hopefully offer a bounty for residents of SWiC’s facilities include carrots, lettuce, scallions, cucumbers, tomatoes, and squash.

SWiC’s garden begins to bear results.

SWiC volunteers help the agency in many ways. If you are interested in helping with SWiC’s garden or in possibly sharing any other hobby or interest, call Mary Jo, Volunteer Coordinator, 570.622.3991 or swicmedadv@comcast.net
